THE 2008 CHARITABLE CAUSE:
TWILIGHT WISH FOUNDATION
For 2008, the Board of Directors of the Nick DiMaria
Foundation has selected yet another deserving local
charity that we are excited to support. The Board
has decided that the proceeds of the Third Annual
Nick DiMaria Memorial Golf Outing will be used to
benefit senior citizens in our area through a donation
to the Twilight Wish Foundation in Fountainville,
PA. The Twilight Wish Foundation is a non-profit charitable
organization that grants “wishes” requested
by local senior citizens who do not have the resources
to make their own wishes come true.
The Mission of The Twilight Wish Foundation
is to enrich the lives of economically disadvantaged
elders that have served others over the years by bringing
smiles and joy and comfort through wish granting and
celebratory events and provide intergenerational experiences
educating the need for philanthropy towards "God's
oldest children."
The Twilight Wish Foundation has granted several
Types of Wishes including:
- Small items: nursing home residents request radios,
clothing, food items, pictures
- Comfort items: hearing aids, visual aids, dentures
to eat fruits and smile again, lift chairs
- Big Dream: meet favorite baseball players and
go to game, ride in a blimp, meet Tony Bennett,
be in Philadelphia Thanksgiving Day parade (2006)
- Nostalgic: see family one more time, hit a baseball
with a bat (spacial disorientation), visit hometown
one more time
We look forward to the opportunity to assist the
many local senior citizens who will greatly benefit
from our donation to the Twilight Wish Foundation.
